Types of Work Assignments

Temporary Staffing

This type of assignment is also known as contract staffing. These positions are your “traditional” staffing assignments and may last one day, several weeks or even up to twelve months. This option allows you to explore different companies and industries while gathering new skills and earning a paycheck.

Temp-To-Hire

You’re offered a position with the intent of making you an employee of our Client within a couple months. This trial period is to confirm the position is the right fit for both you and the Client company. There is no obligation for you or the Client company. If the job is not a good fit, Tributary Staffing will move you to another assignment, assuming one is available that meets your needs.

Direct Hire

CDL Staffing oversees the recruiting process, and the Client company hires you direct. This gives you access to our network of Client companies along with resume assistance, interview tips and negotiation support.

Assignment Summary Sheet

We want all employees to succeed in each and every assignment with CDL Staffing. As such, we will go through all the details of the assignment as well as policies and procedures with CDL Staffing.

We will give you a copy of the Assignment Summary Sheet for the position you accepted. This document provides a great overview of the assignment and helps answer any questions you may have after leaving our office. The following is an example:

Position Title:Class A Driver
Position Summary:Provide on time and undamaged deliveries in the safest and most efficient manner while operating a Class A vehicle.
Physical Requirements:Driving for long periods of time. Operating pallet jack to move freight as needed.
Client Name:Acme Trucking Inc.
Address:123 Any Place Rd.  Steveville, UT 12345
Schedule:Monday through Friday
Time:7:30 am to 4:00 pm with periodic overtime
Parking:Park in the front parking lot in any open space
Supervisor:John J.
Arrival Instructions:Go to the main door and ask for John J.
Phone:Main office is 801-555-5555. John’s mobile is 801-555-5556
Pay:$20.00 per hour plus time and one half for all hours physically worked over 40 in a week.
Safety Equipment:Client will provide all necessary equipment. (Except steel toe shoes)
Dress Code:Jeans and work shirts are ideal. Wear comfortable closed toed shoes.
Lunch:30 minutes (please be sure to punch in and out each day)
Type:“Temp-to-Perm” they want to hire you direct after several months.
Timecards:You will punch in and out on their timekeeping system. They will send us a report each week for payroll.

The following guidelines help ensure our Refer-A-Friend program works smoothly:

  • To qualify, the person referring a candidate must be a current employee or a candidate with a complete profile with CDL Staffing.
  • Referred candidates who are already in the CDL Staffing database are considered ineligible.
  • There is no limit on the number of referrals employees can make.
  • Referrals must be made at the first contact with CDL Staffing. (During their first visit or phone call so we can track the referral)
  • You will receive the $100 taxable bonus in your direct deposit the week after the person completes 100 hours of work within 60 calendar days of the referred employee’s first day.
